The area of hire is developmental psychology. Our curriculum includes Child Psychology, Advanced Laboratory in Child Psychology, Cognitive and Perceptual Development, Language Development, Personality and Social Development, Lifespan Development, Adults in Later Life, Adult-Child Relationships, and more. Course coverage by the new faculty member will depend upon their areas of expertise. The new faculty member will be expected to work collaboratively to help maintain a strong, student-centered program in psychology. In addition to teaching and academic advising, the faculty member will be expected to initiate and maintain an active research program involving undergraduate students. To become tenured, the faculty candidate will develop a continuous record of achievement in teaching, research, and professionally-related service.
1) Earned doctorate by September 1, 2018.
2) Potential for effective teaching.
3) Potential for a successful research program.
4) Ability to undertake effective, professionally-related service to the University and/or to the Community.
5) Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
