The Department of Psychology at Ozyegin University (OzU) invites applications for an open rank Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position in the area of Developmental Psychology, beginning September 1, 2017. Candidates should hold a PhD in Developmental Psychology or a related field.
The ideal candidate will have or hold promise for a national/international reputation in Developmental Psychology, an excellent record of research publications, and excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate students. Preference will be given to candidates with research interests focusing on cognitive development or social cognition in infancy/early childhood. Evidence of a strong quantitative background is a plus.
OZU is a private, non-profit Turkish institution of higher education located in scenic Istanbul, Turkey. Established in 2008, OZU has quickly become nationally recognized as one of the top universities in Turkey, dedicated to excellence in both research and teaching. The medium of instruction is in English. Our student selection process is stringent; almost all of our students receive at least some scholarship aid.
Established in 2011, the Department of Psychology at OZU is accredited, and consists of approximately 300 undergraduate students in the major, 25 graduate students, and 12 full-time tenure-track/tenured faculty members. The Department offers a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Science in Applied Developmental Psychology, and a Master of Science in Couples and Family Therapy. All of our faculty members are highly engaged in research, and the majority of our Psychology faculty members have grant-funded support from either the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), or from the EU Horizon 2020 program.
The normal teaching load consists of four courses per academic year (2/2). Salary will be internationally competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The benefits package includes relocation provision, pension and private health insurance.
