For over 38 years, Shadow Mountain Hospital has provided caring, compassionate care for children, adolescents and adults in need of mental health treatment. Our goal is to provide services that will enable clients to return to a healthy, productive role within his or her family, school, work and community as quickly as possible. Various treatment modalities are used to give individuals a foundation upon which to build healthy, productive lives. The Mental Health Technician provides direct care services and management of children and adolescent patients as prescribed by the physician, therapist, and the treatment team. The MHT assures patient safety, environmental safety and manages patient behavior. The MHT also assists in maintaining safety and cleanliness of the unit. Ninety percent of time spent on the job involves direct patient care-interacting with the patient, either individually or in a group setting.
