The Speech-Language and Feeding Therapist is responsible for conducting Speech-Language and Feeding evaluations for the children visiting the center, to assess their level of functioning and their needs, in addition to creating specific programs and implementing individual interdisciplinary therapy sessions.
Assess and create intervention plans for children with communication disorders/impairment
Instruct and advise parents on a Feeding/Speech Treatment Plan
Work on appropriate Language Development and Communication Stimulation
Assess and address feeding issues of premature babies, children with developmental delay, cranio-facial abnormalities (e.g. cleft lip and palate), and neurologically impaired children (e.g. genetic, trauma, neuromuscular disorder, hypoxia etc.)
Oversee the continued feeding development of children and follow-up with them
Consult and work with team members of the multidisciplinary team to incorporate appropriate strategies and goals into the child’s plan to ensure the child’s fullest development
Maintain confidentiality about clients and their families
Collaborate with co-treating clinicians on a daily basis
Assess patient’s developmental level of functioning in order to design and implement treatment plan
Develop an individualized plan of care catered to each patients needs
Conduct formal evaluations
Prepare progress reports
Review medical reports
Maintain accurate records of contact with each patient
Communicate with primary care givers as needed about therapy plan and other therapeutic interventions
Utilize, maintain and perform quality assurance audits, and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
Provide services with a caring, empathetic manner, holding to the highest professional, ethical and legal standards
Independently makes decisions with some direction by the therapist team leader
Maintain at least 10 hours of continued education per year and register for CPD points
Purpose Provide evaluative, therapeutic and consultative services for children with complex speech, language and cognitive disorders. Participate as a member of the speech team in program development.

Fluent in written and spoken English
Minimum Experience: More than seven years’ experience as a Pediatric Speech-Language Therapist.
Experience with Moderate to Severe Conditions
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (in fulfillment of the requirements of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association)
Experience work with children with speech, language, cognitive and/or hearing delays, disorders or differences
