Mental Health Tech Palmetto Pee Dee Behavioral Health is a 59-bed behavioral health facility located in Florence, SC, offering adolescent behavioral health programs and treatment services to males and females ages 7-21.
The Mental Health Tech (MHT) provides direct care and supervision for residents, assures residents are kept safe, learn and practice appropriate hygiene and self-help skills, learn social and coping skills, and are aware of rules and expectations. The MHT acts as a role model for residents, demonstrating effective problem solving and decision-making skills, assists in providing recreational and therapeutic activities for the residents, transporting residents to and from medical appointments, and assuring scheduled programming is carried out. Performs other duties as assigned.
Conducts patient monitoring and observation 15 minute checks
Maintain consistent and quality supervision of patients
Assist patients as they move through their daily schedule
Ensure the safety and well-being of the patients
Assess escalating client behaviors and respond appropriately and timely
Provide verbal de-escalation to patients in emotional crisis
Conduct groups according to facility guidelines
Knowledge of risk and safety precautions in the care of patients
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians
React calmly and effectively in emergency situations
