School Readiness Consulting is looking for a Principal Associate with a commitment to equity, and strong data analysis, survey methodology and project management skills.
The Principal Associate provides equity-focused leadership in research design, analysis, and project management within School Readiness Consulting’s (SRC) local and national portfolio. The Principal Associate manages small- to mid-sized projects and leads tasks on large projects, with a particular focus on research design and analysis, measurement, and reporting tasks. The Principal Associate also leads the research design and analysis sections of proposals and may manage proposals. In addition, the Principal Associate builds relationships with SRC’s clients and ensures productive communication with clients and other partners. The Principal Associate contributes to SRC’s collegial and productive work climate and supports SRC operations. The Principal Associate reports to the Senior Director.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads projects as a project manager, co-principal investigator, or principal investigator (creating a research plan and project task structure, leading communication with clients and project stakeholders, selecting or developing measurement tools and protocols for data collection, leading recruitment and data collection, overseeing project and field staff, conducting analysis with a high degree of rigor, and developing high-quality deliverables)
Contributes to development efforts (conceptualizing and writing the research design, measurement, and analysis sections of proposals with minimal guidance, building relationships and long-term partnerships with clients, and representing the organization through conference presentations, meeting attendance, and other external opportunities)
Contributes positively to SRC’s organizational culture (contributing to a positive work environment, collaborating with colleagues, supporting the organization’s overall mission, and participating in team meetings, professional learning opportunities, retreats, and other organization-wide events)
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Advanced degree in Developmental Psychology, Education, or related field (Master’s degree required, Doctoral degree preferred)
At least 7 years of relevant experience, including analysis and task management experience on research or evaluation projects
A demonstrated commitment to equity for all children evidenced in past projects and work samples
Specific expertise in survey methodology and educational measurement
Ability to design research studies, write proposals, and lead quantitative analysis tasks
Advanced proficiency with quantitative data analysis methods, application and software, such as Stata
Innovative reporting and visualization of quantitative data and analysis
Strong writing skills and the ability to develop project deliverables independently
Working understanding of key issues and trends in the early childhood education landscape
Creativity and a high degree of initiative to design and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges
