Description Job Summary The LifeFlight Ground Transport AEMT independently works off assessment skills to activate patient care protocols to deliver patient care within his/her full scope of practice as defined by the state of Tennessee and LifeFlight's scope of practice. Maintains compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Safely transport patients utilizing Vanderbilt and Unit specific safety, policy and procedure and accreditation standards. Maintains equipment per regulatory and compliance standards. Responsible for effective communication to ensure safe and quality patient care with team, transport and handover. Key Responsibilities:
Department/Unit Summary LifeFlight Ground EMS started in the fall of 2011, and works with the Discharge Transport office to transport patients from Vanderbilt University Medical Center to other facilities. We offer BLS (basic life support) and ALS (advanced life support) ambulance transport, as well as a non-medical wheel chair van. Our non-emergency discharge transport service can also transport those patients on a ventilator that have been discharged from the hospital for a skilled nursing facility. With the additional two ground specialized ambulances, Vanderbilt LifeFlight has a fleet of 23 transport modes - 13 ground ambulances, nine helicopters and one airplane.
