SUMMARY: This position is a one-year, postgraduate fellowship in pharmacy practice with an emphasis in the pediatric and neonatal intensive care. The purpose of this PGY2 fellowship is to build upon the applicant's Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency program to further develop as a clinical pharmacist in specialized intensive care areas of practice. The hospital is a teaching hospital for medical and pharmacy residents, fellows and students thus teaching responsibilities will be expected. Responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to, operations, pharmacy administration and completion of a research project for presentation and publication. Rotations in the NICU, PICU, Emergency Department and other subspecialties are offered. Residency graduates will be equipped to participate as integral members of interdisciplinary teams and will have developed skills to make expert recommendations for the medication management of critical neonatal and pediatric patients.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent required, Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) preferred. Current Registered Pharmacist with the California State Board of Pharmacy required. Pharmacy Resident. Experience in pediatrics preferred. RPH (Registered Pharmacist) within 90 days of hire or transfer into position, BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire or transfer into position, PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 12 months preferred.
POSITION DETAILS: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period, M-F 8-5 w/weekend rotation.
