An opportunity exists for a Chief Mammography Technologist in Radiology – Women’s Imaging at Penn State Health Community Medical Group in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. They will be responsible for the coordination of day-to-day operations in the Breast Imaging department, for staff scheduling in assigned sections, for performing duties of the Chief Breast Imaging Technologist, and assisting with various supervisory functions. This is a full-time, day shift, exempt position.
Responsibilities include:
Oversees the monthly staffing schedules ensuring coverage on all shifts to include call schedules. Approves vacation requests and arranges coverage for absences.
Interfaces with physicians, clinics, nursing units, and other departments in the resolution of problems as they arise and nurtures good relationships and a cooperative/responsive environment
Prepares and administers the annual budget for the department and prepares monthly explanations regarding variances
Oversees preparation of purchase orders for capital equipment; maintains documentation of all radiology equipment information
Conducts regular staff meetings
Assures all safety procedures are observed to protect patients and employees
The minimum qualifications for this position include:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in mammography
Five years of technical experience
Three years of supervisory experience
Digital experience
Additional preferred qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree
