The Early Childhood Education Institute at OU-Tulsa (University of Oklahoma-Tulsa) is searching for a Senior Research and Policy Associateto join our team. This position is a leadership-level position in the Institute and will serve as a Principal Investigator on research projects, design research and evaluation grants and contract proposals, and oversee staff on multiple research projects. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in designing and conducting research, analyzing data, and disseminating/publishing research, and will work with faculty and staff in multiple departments to promote interdisciplinary research. This position will also oversee Post-Doctoral Fellows, mentor graduate students, and serve on Institute teams. In addition, it is expected that this position will actively pursue federal and foundation funding. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Child Development, Early Childhood, Psychology, or a related field, along with advanced skills in quantitative data analysis and a track record of dissemination via competitive, peer-reviewed journals and professional conferences.
Some Representative Duties Include:
Project Design. Provide leadership for the overall design and funding of research projects. Be familiar with quantitative and qualitative designs with demonstrated strength in quantitative and mixed methods analysis. Submit proposals for internal and external funding through the proposal submission process as appropriate.
Project Implementation. Implement and/or supervise data collection protocols, documentation, analysis, dissemination plan with data obtained from interviews, focus groups, classroom observations, child assessments, environmental ratings, and/or surveys.
Prepare presentations and publications for funders/partners, refereed publications, and national conference presentations aligned with ECEI research
Represent ECEI in a variety of contexts; cultivates and maintains relationships within and outside the Institute.
Personnel Supervision. Supervise and support Project Directors, Assistant Project Directors, Research Associates. Oversees selection and training of new employees.
Education: Doctorate in Child Development, Early Childhood, Psychology, or related field required.
Experience: At least two years of research experience, familiarity with early childhood settings required. At least two years of management/supervisory experience required.
