An earned doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D.) in Child or Human Development, Psychology, Education, or other closely-related fields (e.g. Social Work, Sociology, Gerontology) from an accredited institution (or equivalent) is required; however, applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered. Teaching experience, a documented record of research activity in lifespan development (e.g. publications, conference presentations, seminars, program evaluation reports, etc.), and training and expertise in development across the lifespan, adulthood or aging are required at the time of application.
