Behavioral Float Pool:

• All Psych Associates and RNs report to a nurse manager
• The float pool consists ofapproximately 30 RNs and 60 Psych Associates
• The float pool serves a wide spectrum of patients within the Behavioral Health department including child/adolescents, adults, and seniors

About this position:

• This position will be working 56 hours, every two weeks on the evening shift
• Working 8 hour shifts, and working every other weekend
• This position is benefit eligible

The Psych Associate is responsible for the delivery of patient care, and promotion of a therapeutic environment as delegated by and under the supervision of the RN so that the goals and objectives of treatment are achieved on each unit as assigned.

Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, push/pull, stooping/crouching, finger dexterity, speaking,hearing and visual.

Mental Demands: Frequent people contact, irregular work schedule, detailed work, frequent interruptions, decisions making skills, concentration, ability to work independently, multitasking, organizations skills, working with others.

Physical Environment: Noise, infectious disease, moving machinery, fumes/gases, human tissue/fluids, radiation, telephone usage, chemicals, biohazard material and work inside.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree
• Basic Life Support Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Psychology or Human Services Field
• Experience working in the mental health field
