About the Department: The OU Sociology Department is home to 18 primary faculty ( in addition to adjunct and affiliate faculty, over 40 graduate students, and roughly 450 undergraduate students. The unit has a lively intellectual climate with regular research workshops to share methodologies, gather constructive feedback, and advance the discipline. The successful candidate will have opportunities to affiliate with a diverse array of University-wide strategic units, centers, and institutes (e.g., the Clara Luper Department of African and African-American Studies, the Department of Native American Studies, the Early Childhood Education Institute, the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies, the Center for Social Justice, the Department of Religious Studies, and many more). We are known to be a collegial and supportive department for faculty and students alike.
