Summary Laboratory Assistant performs routine technical and clerical functions. Laboratory Assistant performs venipuncture, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; may perform CLIA waived laboratory tests. Responsible for the collections of blood specimens ensuring patient safety and consistency with age-specific considerations for all patients, neonates, infants, adolescents, adults and geriatrics, as well as employees. Laboratory Assistant completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
