Position Summary

** Full-time--Mon-Fri. --12pm-10:30pm**

The Sterile Processing & Distribution (SPD) Technician provides a variety of technical functions in the decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments and other medical supplies in compliance with policies and procedures of Perioperative Services, AORN, JCAHO, OSHA, and AAMI standards. The SPD Technician must have a working knowledge of decontamination, instrumentation, and sterilization.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Completion of an accredited CS/SPD Technician course OR one(1) year of sterile processing experience in a centralized department or surgical instrument room. (Required)

Experience

• Three years sterile processing experience in a centralized department or surgical instrument room. (Preferred)

Certifications

• National certification as CSPD Technician from CBSPD or certification as a CRCST from IAHCSMM (Preferred)

Special Skills

• Basic working knowledge of computers (Required)
• Able to comprehend written and verbal instructions (Required)
