Department Summary LifeFlight&#39;s Communications Center is made up of a team of licensed EMTs and Paramedics that serve as a Regional Medical Communications Center (RMCC) for Middle Tennessee, as well as communications for the Monroe Carrell Jr. Children&#39;s Hospital at Vanderbilt Neonatal and Pediatric ground ambulances, Vanderbilt LifeFlight&#39;s ground EMS and Event Medicine ambulances. This team dispatches any stat emergency calls throughout the medical center campus, monitor weather conditions, and track more than 10,000 take off and landings at the Vanderbilt helipads. All aircraft dispatching is done by Air Methods AirCom. All FAA Part 135 aviation services provided by Metro Aviation, Inc., which maintains exclusive operational control over all aircraft. AirCom All aircraft dispatching for Vanderbilt LifeFlight is done by Air Methods Communications (AirCom), the only center of its size and scope in the nation. AirCom provides seamless communications between air medical crews, hospitals and emergency personnel. Established in 1996 and based in Omaha, NE., AirCom specialists field calls, provide flight coordination, flight following, and logistical support for more air medical aircraft across the nation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead daily study operations; coordinate activities across multiple clinical sites Serve as the central communication point between investigators, site teams, and collaborators Facilitate steering committee and investigator meetings Troubleshoot site challenges and ensure milestone completion. This role oversees occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, assistants, and technicians delivering evidence-based care to pediatric and adult patients with complex neurologic conditions. This position is approximately 70% management and operations and 30% direct patient care, and oversees a team of 23 clinicians. The Manager, Rehabilitation Services plays a critical role in advancing clinical excellence, team performance, quality improvement initiatives, and patient outcomes while supporting education programs, including physical therapy residencies and student clinical experiences. About the Practice The Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center serves adults and children diagnosed with central nervous system disorders, including brain injury, stroke, balance disorders, and aphasia.
