Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures. Demonstrates an understanding of radiation dose reference levels, radiation dose monitoring, actions to be taken if the estimated dose exceeds set dose reference levels, and actions to be taken for cases when the reference level was exceeded which may include patient follow-up. Demonstrates and understands proper use of iSTAT point of care testing for obtaining creatinine levels, if applicable.&#xa0; Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to: identify patient service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others. Communicates clearly and calmly with patients and their family regarding the test to be performed and assesses patient&#39;s ability to tolerate exam. Prepares patient and area for procedure by positioning patient, utilizing immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, while using appropriate settings and exposure factors. Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques. Uses proper sterile techniques when preparing and performing invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements. Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues to management or appropriate department. Assists in maintaining supplies inventory. Ensures individuals are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures. The Respiratory Therapist, Transport acts as a hospital wide resource for establishing and maintaining a high quality standard of care for the neonatal and pediatric transport population. Responsible for organizing, implementing, and coordinating patient care as directed by the Physician for the purpose of stabilization of the transfer to a tertiary or Special Care Center. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE ESSENIAL FUTIAL FUNCTIONS of the ROLE Performs and directs the administration of respiratory care services (including but not limited to oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, inhaled medication, airway clearance, intubation, invasive and non-invasive ventilation and bedside spirometry), as ordered by a patients attending physician, in a quality manner that is in accordance with established procedures. Administers cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergency situations. Reviews physicians orders, analyzes patient?s diagnostic test results and provides appropriate therapy based on the patients current clinical condition. If appropriate, implements approved protocols as directed by physician. Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of departmental operations, policies, procedures, products, programs relating to the transport environment and patient population. Demonstrates analytical skills necessary to resolve complex patient problems in a mobile environment, develop standards of care and procedures, and evaluate the quality of respiratory care. Documents all treatments and therapies given, any supplies used, and accurately files all corresponding charges. Reports outcomes of therapeutic interventions and makes recommendations as appropriate. Adhe res to established policies including but not limited to: infection control and isolation policies, HIPPA, time and attendance, and social media. In the Fixed Wing/Rotor Wing/Ambulance, must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds, push/pull up to 40 pounds occasionally, reach overhead moderately, climb moderately, squat/bend/kneel occasionally, sit/stand moderately, walk/move about frequently, tolerate tight quarters, small spaces and sit in a confined space. Maintains current state of physical and mental wellbeing, standard aircraft seat belts will fit without alterations, able to function in the cabin of an aircraft without physical restrictions. The Registered Respiratory Therapist, Transport, must live within a one hour drive, or fewer than sixty (60) miles from the base of operation (whichever is greater). Job Summary The Multispecialty Sonographer performs basic to advanced ultrasound services. These may include abdominal, Ob/Gyn, cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal, and small parts. This position examines the patient&#39;s clinical history to identify the examination&#39;s purpose. It frames the clinical questions the examination aims to answer and expands the examination as needed. Essential Functions of the Role Performs various specialty ultrasound procedures using different equipment and techniques. Makes necessary measurements for accurate and high-quality interpretation results. Identifies and defines abnormalities specific to the procedure. Extends the examination scope appropriately, deviating from standard techniques when necessary. Correlates other diagnostic test results with anatomy and function. Utilizes appropriate protection measures during procedures. May assist physicians in procedure and operating rooms by performing ultrasound studies. This aids in complex procedures and decreases risk factors. Prepares patients for procedures and obtains clinical history, including physical findings and lab data. Tailors imaging techniques for comprehensive exams to avoid errors. Explains the purpose of the ultrasound examination to the patient and answers questions. Imaging team members must follow policies, procedures, and workflows. These include PACS, EMR, image exchange systems, modality worklist integrity, record management, and BioMed services. Records statistics and performs daily maintenance of the ultrasound Lab and its equipment, reporting all malfunctions as appropriate. Acts as a resource to team members, physicians and students regarding equipment, techniques, procedures, and studies to optimize patient care. Works closely with ultrasound team members to ensure quality processes and follow protocols. Assists with unit or organization accreditation activities as delegated. Implements protocols as new technology evolves, ensures implementation and adherence to system standards. Assures operation of equipment by performing quality checks following manufacturer?s recommendations and troubleshooting equipment as required. Key Success Factors Must be familiar with approved clinical protocols for each type of ultrasound examination to be performed. Must meet all qualifications for any two of these specialties: Ob/Gyn, cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal, or small parts. Work at least 25% of the time in the second modality. Pediatric and adult scopes are separate specialties by certification. Knowledge and ability to apply complex sonographic methods, instrumentation, and techniques. Knowledge of relevant anatomy and physiology for each different specialty. Knowledge of proper infection control, including precautionary procedures. Knowledge of relevant laws regarding patient confidentiality and privacy. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THE JOB Performs high quality multimodality procedures, according to exam protocol in a timely manner. Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures. Demonstrates an understanding of radiation dose reference levels, radiation dose monitoring, actions to be taken if the estimated dose exceeds set dose reference levels, and actions to be taken for cases when the reference level was exceeded which may include patient follow-up. Demonstrates and understands proper use of iSTAT point of care testing for obtaining creatinine levels, if applicable.&#xa0; Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to: identify patient service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others. Communicates clearly and calmly with patients and their family regarding the test to be performed and assesses patient&#39;s ability to tolerate exam. Prepares patient and area for procedure by positioning patient, utilizing immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, while using appropriate settings and exposure factors. Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques. Uses proper sterile techniques when preparing and performing invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements. Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues to management or appropriate department. Assists in maintaining supplies inventory. Ensures individuals are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures. Obtains, verifies, and maintains all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, policies, and procedures, etc. Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate systems, according to department policies and procedures.
