Organization: General Pediatrics Job Summary: We are seeking a PRN Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD Required) to join our team and support the DOSE Study, a multi-site, five-year clinical trial designed to identify optimal intervention strategies for effective weight loss in children with obesity. This research-based, fully remote position requires approximately 15 hours per week and involves no inpatient clinical responsibilities. The nutritionist will work closely with participating families, through virtual telehealth sessions, to deliver personalized nutrition counseling using a motivational interviewing-based approach focused on seven key health behavior targets: fruits and vegetables, snacks, sugar-sweetened beverages, physical activity, healthy sleep, healthy media use, and engaged parenting. Sessions will follow a structured guide that includes assessing weight changes and progress toward goals, delivering evidence-based nutrition education and medical nutrition therapy for obesity, and identifying barriers to healthy behavior change. In addition to counseling, the nutritionist will adhere to study protocols, monitor intervention fidelity, and collaborate with the research team to ensure successful implementation of all study phases. Approximately five hours per week will be dedicated to administrative tasks and attending relevant meetings. The ideal candidate will hold a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) credential, with Tennessee licensure preferred (or willingness to obtain if hired). Previous experience applying motivational interviewing techniques to counsel families, particularly those with high social needs or from rural backgrounds, is essential, and research experience is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment are critical. Scheduling flexibility is required, as the position includes two evening counseling sessions per week (approximately five hours each) and the possibility of one Saturday morning session per month. Organization: Pediatric Infectious Disease Job Summary: As a Research Assistant II, you will play a key role in advancing research within the Vanderbilt Infection Surveillance &#38; Prevention Research (VISPR) Program. This program is dedicated to investigating the etiology, epidemiology, prevention, and pathobiology of infectious diseases. Our mission is to quantify the burden of acute respiratory and diarrheal illnesses in young children--both locally and globally--and to develop effective mitigation strategies, such as vaccines, with a particular focus on optimizing influenza vaccination approaches for specialized populations (e.g., immunocompromised individuals). Working under moderate supervision, you will be responsible for setting up and conducting experiments, as well as advancing research projects in adherence to established protocols. This includes meticulous data recording and reporting of both standard and non-standard findings. In addition, you will assist with other laboratory and research tasks, collaborate with faculty, staff, and students within the lab, and foster communication with clinical and administrative team members within VISPR. Your contributions will be integral to the team&#39;s efforts in improving public health outcomes through innovative infectious disease research. DEPARTMENT SUMMARY : The Vanderbilt Infection Surveillance &#38; Prevention Research Program was formed in 2024 to conduct clinical and translational research determining the burden of diarrheal and respiratory illnesses in young children and specialized populations and to find ways to reduce their burden (e.g., through vaccines, drugs, etc.). Since 2002, Dr. Halasa has been involved in vaccine trials enrolling children of all ages, including young infants and specialized populations such as children with cancer. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Conducts Wet Lab Experiments   Preparation and Coordination of Samples in and out of lab Creating and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Working with supervisor to maintain supplies and working equipment.
