Ophthalmic Services Manager

Your Role:

Responsible for the daily operations of the ophthalmic department. Daily operations to include creation, implementation, and oversight of all clinical and non-clinical areas including staffing, patient/clinic flow, policies and procedures, equipment, training/education, marketing, extensive budgeting and reporting (gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and using data to enhance business solutions). Resolves difficult and complex patient, staff, and faculty issues.

This position is responsible for approximately twenty-seven direct reports.

The clinic is open Monday - Friday 8:00AM- 5:00PM. Days.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages the clinic including clinic flow, clinic schedules, clinic staffing, policy and procedures, internal/external events, creation and positive variance outcomes on budgets, key stats reporting, daily HR activities with staff, and marketing.
• Maintains and repairs existing equipment and finalizes quotes and information for new equipment purchases to be approved by administrator and chairman.
• Oversees and implements in-services and training on new equipment, procedural changes in the clinic, and for creating and maintaining current clinic protocols and competencies.
• Manages staff and supervisors in meeting compliance/quality initiatives including EOC, Hand Hygiene, Laser Liaison, etc. Responsible for outcomes in all areas of compliance and reporting out to administrator and chairman.
• Serves as a role model for all staff in AIDET techniques in all patient interactions.

OPHTHALMOLOGY (ADVANCED): - Demonstrates uppermost levels of competency of ophthalmology in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering results without requiring support and instruction from others.
