To be successful, the CV/EP Technologist must be able to understand and assist with some Electrophysiology studies. Knows how to patch patients for various studies and is able to understand mapping and EKG images. Will be able to assist the physician with Cath Lab and EP procedures, Devices, and structural heart procedures.
Position is 10 hour shifts, fully benefit eligible, 60 hours in two weeks (6 shifts), no weekends at this time.
Responsibilities/Job Description
Technician assists with procedures in CV and minimal EP providing diagnostic testing, collects and assesses data, performs scrub role and assists cardiologist.
Other duties include:
Operate monitor/recording equipment in all cardiac Cath lab procedures.
Troubleshoots and corrects ECG tracing problems
Operates tableside C-arm controls
Records all patient and monitor data on event log according to established guidelines.
Applies prescribed three major principals of radiation safety at all times
Recognizes rhythms and sudden hemodynamic changes.
Ability to scrub in all procedures in Interventional and EP
Operates RF Ablation equipment
Monitor for EP studies/ablations, integrating use of EP mapping systems.
Qualifications
Required:
Vocational training or Associates degree as Cardiovascular/Electrophysiology Technician or Radiology Technologist
RTR
CVT with RCIS or RCES (Must have RCIS or RCES within 1 year)
Current BLS - must be from the American Red cross or America Heart Association
